Overview

Business Development Director, (SaaS, Cloud) - Financial Services Sector

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Director, (SaaS, Cloud) to lead sales efforts within the UK Financial Services sector. If you're passionate about building high-performing teams, winning strategic accounts, and driving growth in a fast-paced environment, this is a fantastic opportunity.

What we're looking for

We need a confident leader with a proven track record in business development, ideally within SaaS, cloud services, or enterprise technology. You\'ll be responsible for leading a team of sales professionals, securing new business, and expanding revenues with key accounts, all while ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Business Development Managers and Executives.
  • Set clear standards, performance goals, and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and drive professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and customer-centric thinking.
  • Business Development
  • Personally own and drive key sales opportunities within Financial Services.
  • Develop and execute sector-specific sales strategies aligned with overall business goals.
  • Build strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders and understand their drivers.
  • Deliver compelling proposals and lead bid teams where required.
  • Customer Success & Communication
  • Ensure smooth transition from sale to delivery through close collaboration with internal teams.
  • Proactively manage and grow existing accounts, identifying upsell opportunities.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and drive solution adoption.
  • Industry & Product Expertise
  • Maintain a deep understanding of services and relevant industry trends.
  • Present compelling business cases and ROI-focused value propositions.
  • Mentor and support team members in enhancing product knowledge and sales excellence.

About You

  • Bachelor\'s degree, excellent acedemic background.
  • Extensive background in business development or enterprise sales (SaaS or cloud strongly preferred).
  • Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience leading and mentoring high-performing sales teams.
  • Comfortable engaging with C-level stakeholders and driving strategic conversations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and structured sales processes.
  • Previous Financial Services or regulated industry experience is highly desirable
