Learning Support Assistant - Specialist Learning Unit

Pembroke Dock
Monday to Friday | Term Time Only
£14.25 per hour
Through Teaching Personnel

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs? Do you have the patience, empathy and enthusiasm to help pupils reach their full potential? Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist learning unit within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Pembroke Dock.

About the Role

You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs within a specialist learning unit designed to provide a nurturing, structured and supportive learning environment. The pupils may present with:

✅ Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
✅ Speech, language and communication needs
✅ Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
✅ Sensory processing differences
✅ Learning difficulties requiring targeted support

Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help pupils access learning, develop independence, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.

Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional learning needs is desirable but not essential. The right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

Requirements

✔ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
✔ Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register
✔ Right to work in the UK
✔ Relevant childcare, education, care or support experience is beneficial
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
