About the Role

HSDC is looking for a dedicated and empathetic Additional Learning Support Mentor to join our team. In this student-focused role, you will support learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) through regular mentoring, drop-in sessions, and one-to-one check-ins. You will help implement support plans, contribute to annual reviews, and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure learners make meaningful progress. If you are passionate about inclusion, highly organised, and committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with teachers and specialist colleagues to help coordinate and implement support plans for students with EHCPs.
• Mentor and support EHCP learners who require 1-1 check-ins with a trusted member of staff.
• Monitor and report on progress of students with EHCPs, in preparation for annual review meetings.
• Be responsible for safeguarding and promotion for the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
• Liaise with teachers and other colleagues regarding health and wellbeing interventions whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries regarding student confidentiality and legal requirements.
• Provide the best possible service to customers both internal and external, in line with college standards.
