About the Role
Protocol Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Wallsend, Newcastle. In this role, you will work closely with students to provide tailored support, fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Individualised Support : Assist students with diverse learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), to access the curriculum effectively.
Classroom Assistance : Support teachers in delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a conducive learning atmosphere.
Behaviour Management : Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and address any challenges that may arise.
Progress Monitoring : Observe and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Collaboration : Work collaboratively with the school's SEND team, teachers, and parents to ensure the holistic development of students.

Experience : Have experience supporting children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.

Qualifications : Hold relevant qualifications or are willing to undertake training (e.g., SEND and Thrive modules).
