Job description


We're on the lookout for a Family Support Worker to join a well established Children and Young People's Service in Bootle.


The team does some important work supporting vulnerable children and families through practical help, supervised Family Time, and early intervention.


What you'll be doing

  • Supporting Social Workers with assessments and helping put care plans into action
  • Providing hands-on support to children, young people, and families in their homes
  • Working with families who can be harder to engage, building trust and encouraging positive change
  • Running and supervising Family Time sessions (some evenings and weekends included)
  • Keeping clear records, writing up reports, and sharing updates with Social Workers
  • Joining multi-agency meetings and working with other services


What we're looking for

  • Experience working with children, young people, or families who need extra support
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships
  • Someone who can stay calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Confidence working independently and out in the community
  • A real commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel around St Helens


Contract: 3-6 months (with the potential view to be extended)
Pay: £17.37
Hours: 37 per week.
