Service Manager
Service Manager - Perth, Scotland - £55,000 + Company Vehicle + Benefits

The Job:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Service Manager to join a leading global manufacturer within the industrial and heavy equipment sector. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across workshop and field service operations throughout North Scotland. The successful candidate will lead, support and develop a nationwide team of engineers while playing a pivotal role in the ongoing growth and success of the aftersales business. As a member of the management team, you will contribute to strategic decision making and ensure the highest standards of customer support and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all workshop and field service activities within the designated region
- Deliver departmental budgets and key performance targets
- Drive continuous improvement across aftersales operations and customer support functions
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular engagement and site visits
- Monitor product performance issues and coordinate solutions with relevant internal departments
- Develop, mentor and manage a team of engineers to achieve operational and individual performance goals
- Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation and company standards

The Candidate
- Proven experience leading a customer support, service or aftersales operation within a technical or engineering environment
- Experience managing, developing and motivating high performing engineering teams
- Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets, KPIs and operational performance
- Proficient in the use of modern business systems, reporting tools and management information
- Sound knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and best practice
- Experience or knowledge of the forestry, agricultural, construction, plant, machinery, heavy equipment or related industries
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel throughout the region as required
- Excellent communication, customer relationship, leadership, problem solving and change management skills
- Candidates must be located within a reasonable commuting distance of Perth and be eligible to work in the UK

The Package
- Salary of £55,000 per annum DOE
- Company vehicle
- Competitive performance related bonus
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
