These roles are well suited to individuals who value clear expectations, on the job support and flexible working patterns.

About the role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils with their learning, engagement and development.

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assisting with learning activities and classroom routines
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN

Opportunities range from day to day supply through to short term and longer term placements, with roles matched carefully to your experience, confidence level and availability.

  • Graduates or career changers considering a future in education

  • TAs who prefer variety or want to explore different school environments

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people in any setting (school based or transferable)
  • A calm, patient and positive approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

What Teaching Personnel offers

  • Competitive hourly pay of £14.30 – £15.50 per hour, depending on experience
  • Flexible working to suit your lifestyle and commitments
  • Local school placements across Ormskirk and Burscough
  • A dedicated consultant who takes the time to understand your preferences
  • Opportunities to progress into longer term or specialist roles

Why work with Teaching Personnel

We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with both schools and support staff. You will be supported throughout your placements and only offered roles that suit your experience and comfort level.
