Overview

SEND Specialist Tutor – Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils, SEND teams and Schools throughout the UK. We have a high demand for one-to-one or small group SEND Specialist Tutors who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Consett area.

The Opportunity

As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1 : 1 lessons that are tailored to each individual student. You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience of working with children in a therapeutic way. One of your aims will be to support the pupil in their learning, offer structure back into their daily routine and continue their educational development until a suitable placement is found. The tuition is replacing school for these young people and each individual is commissioned for a certain amount of hours, taking place during school hours, five days a week. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports. We can accommodate both part time and full time hours.

• Location – Various locations across Consett
• Position – SEND Specialist Tutor
• Type of work – Contract
• Start date – ASAP
• Setting – either within the student’s home or in the community (learning hub / library)
• Duration – Until the pupil is able to find a suitable school placement
• Contract type – Temporary
• Full-time / part-time availability, ranging from 6-15 hours p / w per student
• Rate of pay – up to GBP30 per hour (negotiable)
