An interesting opportunity has arisen for a bright, organised and autonomous Transport Manager to join a market leading business in Bedfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following :

Ensuring all drivers comply with driver hours and driver rules and adhere to legislation including speed limits

Ensuring that our vehicles are maintained properly, including the inspection of vehicles at the appropriate time and implementing actions to remedy any defects found

• Making and maintaining all necessary records to ensure adherence / compliance to legislative and environmental requirements including any third-party insurance claims;

Managing the transport team in the allocation and prioritising of workload to increase efficiency

Effective and regular liaising with all other relevant departments to ensure efficiency across our business

Planning and routing drivers

The ideal Transport Manager will possess the following attributes / skills :

Ideally at least 4 years' experience in a similar logistics role

Working knowledge of drivers rules and legislation

Strong computer skills - including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as a minimum

The ability to follow and provide clear instructions

Strong organisational skills

Ambitious, loyal and punctual nature
