Transport Manager

Location : Hemel Hempstead

Salary : £48,000 - £55,000 + benefits

We are working with a leading distribution centre in Hemel Hempstead to recruit a dynamic and experienced Transport Manager . This is a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the General Manager, and responsible for overseeing a busy transport operation with a fleet of Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and develop a team of Managers, Drivers, Trainers, and Admin staff.
• Ensure full legal compliance with DVSA standards and internal audit requirements.
• Drive performance across cost, service, and people KPIs.
• Manage budgets, control costs (including fuel, maintenance, and agency usage), and maximise revenue.
• Deliver on-time performance and maintain strong communication across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture with a focus on colleague engagement and succession planning.
