We have an exciting opportunity within Early Intervention in South Essex for a Community Support Worker. You'll be working within the Neighbourhood Team, based in Basildon, covering the East and Central Basildon area. As an 'Community Based Worker' position, the role will involve a combination of remote, community and office based working. There will be an expectation for you to attend the office based at Ely House, Basildon, approximately 2-3 days per week in addition to 'as and when' there is a business need.

Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.

The Role :

As a Community Support Worker, you will be undertaking assessments and reviews in line with our statutory duties under the Care Act to identify eligible needs and to then generate a person-centred and outcome focused support plan. You will be working in partnership and developing relationships with both internal and external colleagues / partners to achieve the best outcomes for Adults and Carers.

This is a "community-based" role, so you can expect to be regularly visiting residents in their home, meeting colleagues and working in the office as well as working from home.

You can expect a varied role, supporting adults of all ages (18+). Working as part of a supportive and knowledgeable team that encourages your career development and growth. You will demonstrate a commitment to learning and development to support yourself and the team to deliver the best service possible. An induction and appropriate training will be provided.

About You :

• An essential attribute for the role is to be 'curious' as thinking 'outside the box' is a must to achieve the best outcomes and to fully engage and utilise all that our community has to offer.
• You'll bring a strong ability to build effective relationships with adults and their families in times of challenge and crisis.
• You will have the drive and passion to want to make a difference, and a willingness to learn.
• Ideally you will have some experience of activity-based work with adults and some knowledge of legislative and policy guidance applicable within social care settings.
