We have an exciting opportunity within Early Intervention in South Essex for a Community Support Worker. You\'ll be working within the Neighbourhood Team, based in Basildon, covering the East and Central Basildon area. If you\'re caring, driven, innovative, and eager to make an impact, we want to hear from you!

Role and Responsibilities

As a Community Support Worker, you will be undertaking assessments and reviews in line with our statutory duties under the Care Act to identify eligible needs and to then generate a person-centred and outcome focused support plan. You will be working in partnership and developing relationships with both internal and external colleagues / partners to achieve the best outcomes for Adults and Carers.

This is a "community-based" role, so you can expect to be regularly visiting residents in their home, meeting colleagues and working in the office as well as working from home. You will be mobile throughout an operational area and will need a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or alternative mobility arrangements.

About You

  • An essential attribute for the role is to be 'curious' as thinking 'outside the box' is a must to achieve the best outcomes and to fully engage and utilise all that our community has to offer.
  • You'll bring a strong ability to build effective relationships with adults and their families in times of challenge and crisis.
  • You will have the drive and passion to want to make a difference, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ideally you will have some experience of activity-based work with adults and some knowledge of legislative and policy guidance applicable within social care settings.

What We Can Offer

  • Training and development to empower you from our award-winning Essex Social Care Academy.
  • Flexible working options
  • Generous holiday entitlement (with the option to purchase extra holiday)
  • Discount scheme (receive discounts or cash back from selected retailers, both online and in store)
  • Employee wellbeing and counselling
  • Life assurance of three times annual salary
  • Essex County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
