An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well established Renal CNS team at the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre .We are a regional Renal Cancer centre and accept oncology referrals from a large geographical area offering a variety of oncological treatments. We are seeking and enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced oncology nurse to complement our growing CNS team. We are looking for a team-player who can be adaptable and responsive in the management of this vast patient group who can have acute clinical needs.

The key purpose of the Renal Clinical Nurse Specialist is to work autonomously alongside our established CNS and Care co-ordinator to co-ordinate the delivery of a comprehensive and holistic Renal cancer service within the Trust.

The CNS will provide support / key worker status to Renal cancer patients and their families / carers from diagnosis and throughout their pathway. With the support of the MDT, the post holder will endeavour to provide a patient focused service, offering holistic assessment, specialist support and information and provide psychological support as necessary.

The successful post holder will be responsible for the development of innovative nursing practice and the provision of specialist advice within their field, implementing personalised care to enhance the patient experience, including a Nurse – led clinic assessing patients undergoing treatment.

Full time substantive role, to provide a holistic, patient - focused service delivering evidence based information and advice to patients with renal cancer, supporting them and their families throughout treatment and ongoing care.

To work as a core member of the multidisciplinary team providing expert advice and education.

To act as 'key worker' within the multidisciplinary team, taking a central role coordinating individual patients care; promoting continuity through the treatment modalities, and to provide patients with a primary point of contact for information and advice.

Royal Surrey is a compassionate and collaborative acute and community Trust. Recognising that our 5000 colleagues are our greatest strength, we offer a comprehensive health and wellbeing program along with a commitment to developing and advancing your career. Our diverse and welcoming Royal Surrey family will ensure you that you feel valued from your initial interview through your entire tenure.

We are clinically led and provide joined up care by bridging the gap between hospital and community services alongside regional specialist cancer care. Our main acute hospital site is in Guildford with community hospital sites at Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh. We provide adult community health services in homes across Guildford and Waverley.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have given us an overall rating of Outstanding.

Royal Surrey has a strong reputation and history to build on. We are proud of our achievements and we are investing in our colleagues through our commitment to supporting professional development as well as investing more than £45 million in our physical environment and new equipment in the next few years. There has never been a better time to join us.

Although it isn't the Trusts normal practice, adverts may close early, so you are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible.
