Job description

Are you a reflective and creative EYFS Teacher seeking a role in a respected Independent School in Manchester from January 2026? This Independent School is looking for an EYFS Teacher who will plan high-quality play-based provision and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate sessions. The successful EYFS Teacher will prepare resources prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026 and begin working with children from January 2026 as the EYFS Teacher.

Role summary — EYFS Teacher
The EYFS Teacher will lead the daily provision, run systematic phonics and story sessions, and design language-rich indoor and outdoor environments as the EYFS Teacher. This Independent School values holistic development and the EYFS Teacher will be central to establishing routines, tracking developmental milestones and ensuring high standards of care. The EYFS Teacher will also be involved in transition planning into Year 1 and will liaise closely with families from induction in January 2026.

EYFS Teacher Responsibilities
• Lead daily phonics, story time and early number sessions as the EYFS Teacher.
• Observe, record and use assessment to shape next steps as the EYFS Teacher.
• Create stimulating indoor and outdoor environments and scaffold play as the EYFS Teacher.
• Engage families through workshops and regular communication as the EYFS Teacher, starting engagement activities ahead of January 2026.

EYFS Teacher Requirements
We seek an EYFS Teacher with QTS/EYTS or equivalent, strong early years practice and excellent interpersonal skills. The EYFS Teacher should be organised, reflective and committed to child-centred pedagogy. Availability for planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026 and a classroom start in January 2026 is required. The EYFS Teacher will thrive in an Independent School where small classes and rich resources allow for personalised learning.

CPD & culture — why apply?
The Independent School in Manchester provides bespoke CPD, weekly mentor time and collaborative planning for the EYFS Teacher. From January 2026 the EYFS Teacher will access peer observations, coaching and opportunities to develop specialisms. If you are an EYFS Teacher excited to start in January 2026 in an Independent School setting, we encourage you to apply.
