SEN Teaching Assistant

Uniform Education is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Buckinghamshire. The school provides a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a 1 : 1 or small-group basis, adapting learning to their individual needs
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging, structured lessons and sensory activities
- Encourage independence, social interaction, and confidence through positive reinforcement
- Use communication systems such as Makaton, PECS, and visual supports to aid understanding
- Provide personal care and mobility support where required
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to support EHCP goals
