Maintenance Operative

Job Description

We’re hiring on behalf of a leading residential provider for a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Operative to join their on-site team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to step into a visible, resident-facing role that blends technical maintenance with day-to-day service and safety support.

You'll be the go-to person for general repairs, compliance support, and site upkeep - helping to ensure the property is safe, functional, and welcoming for all residents.

What You’ll Be Doing :

• Carrying out day-to-day maintenance across the site : minor plumbing tasks (e.g. fixing leaks, blocked drains, replacing fittings), plus basic electrical and carpentry jobs
• Supporting seasonal upkeep, internal and external repairs, and small refurbishments
• Checking HVAC systems (e.g. filter replacements, minor diagnostics) and assisting with plant room upkeep
• Completing regular site inspections : fire safety, emergency lighting, risers, bin stores, and security features
• Logging and escalating faults, managing compliance routines (e.g. temperature checks, weekly / monthly audits)
• Coordinating resident appointments and contractor visits, ensuring works are completed to standard
• Maintaining digital records for inspections, repairs, and compliance tasks
