You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

This is a hands‑on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. In return, you’ll receive ongoing training, opportunities to grow your career, and the chance to be part of one of the UK’s most recognised and respected retail brands.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain high energy levels, juggling tasks while maintaining efficiency.
  • Assist the management team by keeping store and property equipment and facilities operating smoothly.
  • Minimise customer disruption by coordinating repairs with minimal impact on valued customers.
  • Ensure all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Follow the planned work schedule to achieve first‑time fix, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform general day‑to‑day store and property maintenance.
  • Use mobile devices – phone and tablet – to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
  • Represent the Tesco brand by demonstrating core values and maintaining a positive attitude in Tesco uniform.
  • Attend local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
  • Support a diverse and inclusive culture.

Qualifications & Operational Skills

  • ONC or equivalent.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Health & safety awareness.
  • Communication and collaboration skills.
  • Office 365 knowledge.
  • Completed all technical training upskilling modules relevant to the role.

Benefits

  • Annual bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary.
  • Holiday starting at 25 days plus a personal day (plus bank holidays).
  • 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave (after 1 year’s service) at full pay, followed by 13 weeks of statutory maternity or adoption pay; 6 weeks fully paid paternity leave.
  • Free 24/7 virtual GP service.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for you and your family.
  • Free access to a range of experts to support your mental wellbeing.
