Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home
Location : Leicestershire, Northamptonshire & Derbyshire
Salary : Up to £36,000 per annum
Hours : Shift pattern including nights, weekends, and statutory holidays

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Support Worker to lead shifts and provide high-quality care for our young people. You will support daily activities, education, and statutory meetings, ensuring a consistent, therapeutic approach. This role includes supervising and mentoring staff, maintaining high standards within the home, and safeguarding the welfare of all residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts, supervise staff, and ensure consistent, high-quality care in line with regulations.
- Support young people’s daily routines, education, therapy, and personal development.
- Implement care plans, risk assessments, and LAC documentation, attending statutory meetings as required.
- Safeguard young people, respond to challenging behaviours, and promote positive outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with families, social workers, and external professionals.
- Assist with household tasks, budgeting, and maintaining a safe, homely environment.
- Contribute to staff induction, training, and professional development.
- Complete accurate reports, records, and administrative duties.
- Provide cover for management when required and participate in the on-call system.

Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People (essential)Good standard of English (written and spoken)Level 4 / 5 in Health & Social Care, First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, or Health & Safety (desirable)Experience
