Make a lasting difference in the lives of children with special educational needs while building your career in an inclusive and supportive environment.

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support our educators in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to communicate effectively with both students and staff, demonstrating patience and understanding, particularly when working with children who have special educational needs, including autism. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive atmosphere that encourages all children to thrive.

Duties

  • Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging lessons and educational activities tailored to the individual needs of students
  • Support children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance and care
  • Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions among students
  • Provide care for toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive learning environment that caters to diverse learning styles
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to child education and care

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children is highly desirable, particularly in an educational or childcare setting
  • Familiarity with special educational needs, especially autism, is advantageous
  • A background in toddler care or early childhood education will be considered a plus
  • Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues effectively
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that respects the individuality of each child is crucial for success in this role

What We Offer

  • Flexible supply and long-term teaching opportunities
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Supportive and friendly school environments
  • Continuous professional development opportunities
  • Dedicated consultant support from Teaching Tomorrow

Teaching Tomorrow is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants are subject to pre-employment checks including satisfactory references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.

It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We offer payment via both Umbrella and PAYE Services.
