Accountant
Overview
You will be based in two offices in the Teesside and North Yorkshire area. The role is very much a reviewing work opportunity. The accounts preparation is all taken care of and this role is to check and submit the work provided is correct before submitting to HMRC etc.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements, management accounts, and statutory accounts in compliance with relevant standards.
Manage bookkeeping tasks, reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
Support VAT, corporation tax, and personal tax return preparation and submissions.
Liaise with clients across both offices, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
Monitor deadlines to ensure compliance with filing requirements.
Provide proactive financial advice to clients and build strong professional relationships.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the two offices to ensure efficient workflow management.
Requirements
Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA / ACA / AAT (or equivalent), or qualified by experience.
Previous experience within an accountancy practice preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Office (Excel essential).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities across two offices.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem solving.
