Trainee Claims Adjuster – Reinsurance

The Role :

To proactively handle and adjust Reinsurance claims from first notification to settlement working within the Canopius claims team in London.

Responsibilities :

• The candidate will be provided with all the training and support required to become a professional Reinsurance claims adjuster over time.
• To provide administrative support to the Reinsurance claims manager.
• To develop a thorough understanding of the Reinsurance claims portfolio.
• To gain a thorough understanding of Reinsurance policy coverages and clauses.
• In time;
• To proactively adjust claims within a set authority level and in accordance with the Canopius claims vision and obligations; ensuring and delivering excellent service to all our customers.
• To develop and maintain close and collaborative working relationships with the claims team, divisional underwriters, actuaries and other internal stakeholders.
• To ensure delegated claims are managed in accordance with Canopius claims values; ensuring effective oversight of third party service providers via regular reporting on key performance indicators, peer reviews, file reviews and generally sharing of best practice.
• To instruct and proactively oversee lawyers, loss adjusters and experts from the Canopius panel of experts and other external stakeholders where necessary.
• To ensure that sufficient financial provisions, in accordance with the Canopius reserving philosophy, are held for all claims within your portfolio.
