Leadership Responsibilities in Residential Conveyancing Management
- Lead and manage the conveyancing department, providing direction, support, and motivation to solicitors, fee earners, and support staff.
- Strategically develop the department and ensuring alignment with the firm’s vision and growth objectives.
- Oversee quality standards across residential conveyancing matters, ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory, and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements.
- Maintain and grow key client relationships, acting as the senior contact for high-value or complex residential property transactions.
- Monitor department budgets, resource allocation, and team performance, reporting progress to the management board.
- Review and update internal conveyancing processes to maximise efficiency, quality, and client care.
- Support the ongoing development and training of the team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Key Skills & Experience Required for Head of Conveyancing
Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Chartered Legal Executive with at least seven years’ post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing.Proven experience managing a conveyancing team or department within a reputable legal practice.Excellent technical knowledge of residential property law, processes, and compliance obligations.Skilled communicator with experience engaging a wide range of clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop others.Demonstrated competence in departmental planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring.Proficiency in legal case management software and a confident user of Microsoft Office applications.Head of Conveyancing Role
