European Road Freight Coordinator

Our clients, who specialize in Fine Art logistics services, are looking to appoint a European Road Freight Coordinator for their team based in Berkshire. Experience handling Fine Art is essential for this role.

On a day-to-day basis, as European Road Freight Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the export / import processes for road freight shipments, as well as ensuring the profitability of the European transport operations.

European Road Freight Coordinator duties include :

• Planning and coordinating transport routes and daily schedules for Europe for the fleet, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability
• Managing customer collections, packing services, and deliveries effectively
• Working with customers and office staff to plan routes and schedule delivery times, coordinating drivers, agency drivers, and vehicles
• Coordinating with customs for clearance and managing customs entry exceptions
• Managing EU airfreight and EU road courier shipments
• Investigating and resolving client / supplier problems and complaints
• Coordinating all aspects of shipping fine art and antiques
• Liaising with overseas agents, private collectors, galleries, auction houses, artists, and transport companies
• Communicating with clients to guide them through the shipping process
• Quoting and coordinating both domestic and international shipments
• Arranging customer collections and deliveries, including specialist packing services
• Preparing, booking, and processing transportation documentation
• Handling paperwork such as bills of lading, labeling, timesheets, condition reports with photos, customs clearance, and advising on payments
• Producing timely invoices and maintaining comprehensive records
• Preparing operational reports and cost analyses
• Communicating with sales and operations teams throughout the day

We seek candidates with proven experience and knowledge of domestic and European transport operations, EU customs procedures, and transport legislation. Good geographical knowledge, experience with high-end clients and goods, and strong organizational skills are essential.

You should be commercially focused, proficient in Microsoft Office, detail-oriented, confident in communication, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
