Job Profile Summary

The Data Issue Management & Reporting Senior Analyst Manager supports with the management and resolution of Finance Data Issues, the monitoring of Data Quality rules and helps ensure that Finance can maintain and demonstrate compliance to Group Data Policy and external regulations.

WORKING PATTERN : Our work style is hybrid, and the role will require the successful candidate to be spending at least two days per week, or a minimum of 40% of their time in either the Edinburgh or Bristol hub.

The Finance Data & Analytics Office (FDAO) is a Centre of Excellence of Data encompassing activities across Data Engineering, Data Management & Culture, Data Science and Reporting with a purpose to Empower through Trusted Data.

The role / team

The Data Issues Management & Reporting team, as part of the Data Management & Ethics team within FDAO oversights Data Issues within Group Finance, supporting remediation to reduce data risks and improve our data controls.

Additionally, the team builds data rules, develops innovative reporting and training solutions alongside running key engagement forums.

The role includes running operational processes around data quality rules, controls attestation and periodic reviews of our internal processes.

Creation of reporting is key to the role, to ensure we can accurately report on the quality of the data provided.

The role will collaborate with colleagues in the team, collaborating to drive data issue resolution across Group Finance.

In addition, ensuring that Data Issues are being managed within groups strategic tool (Collibra), driving supporting activities being delivered by business areas and Platform teams.

You'll work with other data teams across the Group including the central Chief Data & Analytics Office to support Group-wide initiatives aimed at improving data management and reducing our data risks.

You'll also deputise for the Senior Manager when required, providing insight and guidance to senior colleagues.

A typical day in this role would include What your key accountabilities will be :

  • Managing and assessing Data Issues in collaboration with multi-function Finance teams.
  • Building and maintaining Data Control solutions using SAS, SQL and PowerBI. Including running the operational processes for data rules to ensure they have completed correctly.
  • Supervising priority tasks, proactively resolving problems, raising issues where required. Analysing progress and new information to draw out insights and updates.
  • Working with key Finance customers and Finance Platform leads to agree activities to drive remediation of data issues.
  • Ensuring high quality inputs to Data Forums and engagement sessions, ensuring well-run meetings.

We are looking for someone who :

  • Is highly skilled in the usage, development and maintenance of PowerBI reporting solutions.
  • Has experience and knowledge in the use of SAS and SQL to support a key Data Control platform for Finance.
  • Has a data assessment and reporting capability analysing data from different sources to draw appropriate conclusions and make suitable recommendations.
  • Has the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with customers to understand their needs and translate them into requirements.
  • Understands data, policies and procedures works on acquiring, organising, processing and interpreting data to fulfil business objectives.
  • Collaborates well within and across teams, working multi-functionally with a diverse group of partners.
  • Thinks creatively in designing and delivering innovative solutions to problems, thrives and can lead in a varied and energised environment.

It would also be great if you had experience of :

  • Insurance, Pensions or Investments and associated products.
  • Risk management, including responding to audits and assessments.
  • Use and development of engaging updates through PowerPoint
  • An understanding of Collibra the Group’s main Data Management tool for Data Issues.
