Job Purpose

The position of Business Development Manager is a high-activity role requiring both a high outreach volume and consistent prospecting within our markets. You will need to show a deep understanding of your customers, the challenges they face and how Derivia’s services help them address those challenges. To be successful in this role you will need to combine solution-based selling with a strong will to win.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Deliver revenue and New Business against quarterly targets
  • Win new business through the sale of subscriptions to banks and issuers
  • Prospect and contact potential clients and key decision makers through multiple channels including face to face
  • Demonstrate understanding of the markets the company operates in, and in-depth knowledge of the company’s products, buyers, and motivations
  • Create a territory plan for assigned markets, highlighting opportunities for new logos
  • Carry out New Business Account planning with detailed pre-call research to maximise trial-to-sale conversion
  • Maintain strong inter-departmental communication within and across offices
  • Travel to industry conferences and client offices where necessary
  • Ensure alignment of your territory plan with the company’s short, medium and long-term goals

KEY INTERFACES

  • Work with the CRO to ensure consistent performance against targets
  • As a member of the Derivatives Sales Team, assist others to achieve sales targets both individually and collectively
  • Provide customer feedback and insight to relevant teams regarding product and content development
  • Maintain close communication with the Global SRP Sales Team, Operations, Marketing
  • Consider the impact of decisions on other areas of the company and be aware of inter-departmental effects
  • Knowledge, Experience And Skills

  • 2+ years of success in a subscriptions sales environment
  • Exceptional prospecting and closing skills
  • Experience selling six-figure deals into financial institutions in Europe (preferred)
  • Knowledge of financial services markets
  • Knowledge of derivatives (preferred)
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Pipeline building, management and forecasting
  • Experience with B2B sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC, MEDDICC, Challenger, SPIN)
