Job description

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

The Opportunity
A leading independent day school in Warwickshire is seeking a passionate and talented Spanish Teacher to join its thriving Modern Languages Department from January 2026. This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to teach Spanish across Key Stages 3–5, within a warm and academically ambitious environment that values both excellence and individuality.

What We’re Looking For
The school is seeking a teacher who:

  • Holds QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has excellent subject knowledge and confidence teaching Spanish at GCSE and A-Level
  • Can deliver engaging, immersive lessons that promote linguistic fluency and cultural appreciation
  • Uses assessment and feedback effectively to support student progress
  • Works collaboratively and contributes to a forward-thinking, high-performing department

Experience with language exchanges, cultural projects, or co-curricular enrichment such as film clubs or debating would be an advantage.

The School Context
This independent co-educational school, set within beautiful rural surroundings, educates pupils aged 11 to 18 and combines traditional values with a modern, inclusive approach. Known for its strong academic record, excellent pastoral care and extensive co-curricular programme, the school offers a nurturing yet challenging environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Modern Languages play a central role in the curriculum, and Spanish is a particularly popular subject. The department prides itself on creating confident communicators who appreciate global perspectives and cultural diversity. Lessons are supported by excellent facilities, including language labs, digital resources and opportunities for trips abroad.

Teachers enjoy small class sizes, a collaborative atmosphere and a leadership team that places genuine emphasis on staff wellbeing and professional growth. The school is proud of its strong community ethos, where respect, ambition and creativity are at the heart of everything it does.

What’s on Offer

  • A competitive independent-school salary commensurate with experience
  • Access to high-quality professional development and leadership opportunities
  • Well-resourced classrooms and specialist departmental facilities
  • Supportive colleagues and a collaborative academic culture
  • The chance to contribute to trips, exchanges and co-curricular enrichment

The Role in More Detail
You will teach Spanish across the age range, developing students’ confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will inspire pupils to appreciate language as both a means of communication and a gateway to culture. Lessons will blend grammatical precision with creative and interactive approaches.

You will also have the opportunity to lead or support extra-curricular initiatives, such as Spanish film or conversation clubs, language competitions and cultural visits abroad. Collaboration with colleagues in French and German will offer scope for wider departmental innovation.

How to Apply
If you are an enthusiastic and engaging Spanish Teacher seeking to work in a prestigious and supportive independent school, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please send your CV. Early applications are encouraged, as interviews may be scheduled before the closing date.
