Product Owner

Overview

We require a Product Owner to manage the product development process for Product(s) within our portfolio and be responsible for gathering feature requests, roadmap planning, scheduling releases and coordinating sprints. The Product and Delivery team are responsible for successfully implementing new business opportunities or changes to existing services across our International Networks and HayU businesses. With responsibility across the Media Operations lifecycle from scheduling & playout to media ordering & fulfilment, the team are experts at delivering new services across the end-to-end workflow. The team develop, support and deploy business systems and solutions used by several NBCU business units globally, including International Networks, HayU, Peacock and Sky Showtime. They work closely with cross-functional teams, identify user needs and ensure our products meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Product Owner managing the product development process for Product(s) within the international portfolio
• Coordinate sprint planning for your products with the Product Manager, balancing priorities alongside other Product Owners in the team
• Own the roadmap for your products, ensuring stakeholders are regularly updated
• Plan releases for your products in partnership with the Product Manager and Engineering
• Lead and own solution design and implementation for new or enhanced features in the international product portfolio
• Collaborate alongside other Product and Delivery team members, contributing to project planning and estimation relating to new product development projects
• Act as an advisor, SME and consultant to the Director Product, the Product Manager and the IMO leadership team on key decisions
• Ensure that best practice is always upkept for project / product documentation, including ensuring quality of information provided to Software Engineering
• Responsible for providing a clearly prioritised requirements backlog to Software Engineering based on business need
• Responsible for production and maintenance of documentation about our products and solutions that makes it easy for users and support to understand how they interact and troubleshoot
• Oversee and ensure effective prioritisation of all requested development work, working collaboratively with other Integration and Delivery and Media Technology team members to ensure business needs are met
• Work closely with colleagues from our Enterprise Product team, to understand global goals and ensure international alignment
• Ensure that solutions are aligned with agreed technology strategy and architectural principles
• Educate teams in International Media Operations and externally in the wider business on new products or features post project implementation
• Provide effective liaison between technical and non-technical audiences, both internal to NBCU and 3rd parties
• Some international travel may be required.
