Senior Traffic Engineer

Key Responsibilities :

Leading the development, design, consultation, and delivery of schemes to promote walking, cycling, and bus priority.

Reviewing and implementing strategic cycle routes, School Streets, traffic signal works, and bus lanes.

Working on measures to reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety.

Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful scheme delivery.

Providing technical input and expertise in traffic and transport-related projects.

Managing multiple projects and ensuring timely delivery within budget.

Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, statutory duties, and practices.

Job Requirements :

Extensive experience in highways, traffic, and transport-related projects.

Understanding of current planning, sustainability, and economic agendas influencing transport policy.

Proven record of successfully delivering traffic and parking schemes.

Strong knowledge of highways and transport legislation and statutory duties.

Relevant professional qualification or significant experience in a similar role.

Excellent project management and organisational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
