Job description

We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Traffic Engineer position in our Richmond, VA office. Work as part of a team in all facets of traffic engineering including roadway, trail, and pedestrian type projects. Tasks include design of signing and pavement markings, safety assessments, development of maintenance of traffic and preparation of construction related documents. Analysis of intersection and road section in accordance with VDOT standards. Ability to manage traffic impact study projects. Other responsibilities may include report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspection, project rendering.

Qualifications

Required Education & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (with emphasis in Transportation)
  • 5 to 7 years experience preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency using MicroStation and / or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Knowledge of TOPSAM requirements, Chapter 527, VDOT LAP and Smart Scale process and requirements.
  • Desire to work in a team environment.
  • PE license or ability to obtain one.
  • Planning, organization and scheduling skills.
  • A self starter.
