Job Description:

Your Impact

Leonardo is looking for a Risk Manager to support the effective implementation and governance of the Project Risk Management process within the Electronics Division. The Risk Manager will act as the local subject matter expert for the Leonardo Risk Management framework, providing independent oversight, assurance, and constructive challenge to Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).

The role works independently while maintaining strong relationships with delivery teams, ensuring risk management is applied consistently, proportionately and in line with corporate policy and risk appetite. Support will be provided across the full project lifecycle, from bid through to execution.

The role is based at Edinburgh, with travel to other Leonardo UK sites and occasional travel to Italy as required.

The Risk Manager will champion a strong risk culture across the site, providing expert advice, governance oversight, and assurance to IPTs, including:

  • Supporting IPTs to identify, assess and manage risks and opportunities, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality of risk information.

  • Advising on appropriate risk treatment and mitigation strategies

  • Analysing post-treatment residual risk using Monte Carlo analysis, supporting informed decision-making and confidence in project forecasts

  • Supporting contingency setting, justification, and ongoing management, ensuring alignment to risk exposure and risk appetite and advising when escalation is required

  • Producing risk reports, ensuring timely, accurate and decision-focused insight in line with reporting cycles

  • Aggregating and analysing risk trends across projects, identifying systemic issues, and driving continuous improvement activity

  • Mentoring and support to Project Risk Managers

In addition, the role will:

  • Facilitate risk identification, review, and assurance workshops, providing challenge and guidance to improve risk quality and maturity.

  • Deliver training, coaching, and mentoring to individuals and teams to embed consistent, high-quality risk management practices.

  • Review and assure risk registers, assumptions, quantification, and mitigation plans to ensure completeness and robustness.

  • Support governance forums and senior stakeholders with clear, evidence-based risk insight.

  • Assist the IPTs and senior management with ad hoc requests, including review of internal documentation and risk management deliverables for customer submission.

  • Support assurance activities and provide input to internal reviews or audits as required.

What You'll Bring:

- Degree in a technical or business subject

- Strong knowledge of enterprise and project risk management frameworks

and standards

- Highly numerate with experience of statistical and financial modelling (e.g. competence in quantitative risk analysis, including Monte Carlo techniques)

- High competency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

- Ability to influence and communicate with stakeholders.

- Ability to lead workshops and present technical details to large teams of

people with confidence.
