Lead, Shape, Transform - A Unique Opportunity to Inspire Young Minds in South Devon

Are you an experienced educator with a passion for creating meaningful, individualised learning journeys for young people with additional needs? We’re working with an inspiring independent specialist school in beautiful South Devon that’s looking for a curriculum leader to help shape the future of their learners and their community.

About the School :

Set in the heart of Totnes, this specialist setting offers a nurturing, therapeutic learning environment for students aged 11-19. It’s a place where education goes far beyond academics - relationships, trust and emotional development are key to every success story.

With small class groups and a deeply personalised approach, the school has built a strong reputation for enabling pupils with complex educational needs to thrive, grow in confidence and re-engage with learning.

This is a school where commitment and compassion are truly valued.

What We’re Looking For :

We’re seeking a qualified teacher who has :

  • Experience leading curriculum development or department-level initiatives
  • A proven background in SEN education
  • The ability to lead by example, support colleagues and inspire progress
  • A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (you’ll work across sites and local outreach locations)

This role would suit someone looking for a fresh challenge - someone who wants to combine professional leadership with purpose-driven work in a supportive and forward thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead on curriculum design and implementation, working closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team
  • Ensure that all education provision meets high standards and supports both academic and personal development
  • Play an integral role in the school’s safeguarding team (DDSL responsibilities included)
  • Champion a holistic, individualised approach to learning that supports long-term outcomes for every student
  • Why Apply Through Us?

As specialists in education recruitment, we’re proud to connect passionate professionals with schools where they can make a real impact. We know that working in SEN is both challenging and deeply rewarding and we’re where to support you every step of the way.

    This role offers :

  • A chance to be part of a nationwide group of schools focused on innovation and inclusion
  • A values-led culture where staff wellbeing and development are a priority
  • A competitive full-year salary (no term-time only deductions)
  • Benefits including pension, online GP, retail discounts, wellbeing support and more
  • Ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Apply today or get in touch with our specialist team for a confidential chat!
