Senior Legal Counsel

We're partnering with a global reinsurance organisation to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel into its London-based legal team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with 5+ years' PQE to join a highly regarded international business operating across multiple jurisdictions. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you'll provide broad commercial and regulatory legal support while partnering with teams across underwriting, operations, risk and leadership.

Key responsibilities:

• Advising on a broad range of commercial contracts and business initiatives
• Providing legal support across UK and international operations
• Supporting strategic projects, corporate matters and regulatory developments
• Managing external counsel where required
• Partnering with senior business stakeholders to deliver pragmatic legal solutions
• Contributing to governance and legal risk management activities

About you:

• Qualified lawyer with 5+ years' PQE
• Strong commercial contracts experience gained in-house or in private practice
• Experience within insurance, reinsurance or wider financial services is advantageous but not essential
• Commercially focused with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
• Confident stakeholder manager with excellent communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment
