Working pattern: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week, on-site
Priory Hospital Middleton St George has an opportunity for a Speciality Doctor to join our team. Located in the village of Middleton St George, near Darlington, County Durham, Priory Hospital Middleton St George is set within spacious, relaxing grounds. We provide specialist inpatient psychiatric care for adults with complex mental health needs, including acute, PICU, rehabilitation, personality disorder and secure services.
Priory Hospital Middleton St George is looking for a dedicated Specialty Doctor to join our compassionate multidisciplinary team, providing specialist inpatient mental health care for adults. You’ll play a key role in supporting recovery through evidence-based treatment, with our shared commitment to helping patients “Live Your Life.”
As part of the role, you will
- Assess and manage patients with complex and acute mental health needs.
- Develop evidence-based treatment plans and deliver specialist clinical care.
- Participate in the first medical on-call rota (1:6).
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
- Support teaching, training, clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Essential for the role
The role requires experience in Psychiatry, strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development, research, and teaching. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and adherence to regulatory and ethical standards are also expected.
