Healthcare Support Workers - West Lothian District Nursing
Exciting opportunities are available for highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Support Workers to join District Nursing teams across West Lothian. We have multiple Band 3 positions available and are looking for passionate, caring and motivated individuals to join our highly skilled nursing teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing routine patient care in support of and under the supervision of a District Nurse or Registered Nurse. You should have excellent communication skills including effective written communication and a good working knowledge of IT systems.
The role will involve a variety of clinical skills, including venepuncture, medicines administration, catheter care and other appropriate clinical procedures, following the relevant training where required. You will also be involved in providing care for palliative and end of life patients within their own homes.
You will provide support to other members of the multidisciplinary team, including staff nurses and student nurses.
In addition, you will carry out assigned duties to meet patients needs and ensure they receive high-quality, person-centred care.
You will have the ability to work on your own initiative while recognising when to seek advice and support from a Registered Professional. Lone working is an essential part of this role.
You must have your own car and a valid driver's license and be able to travel throughout West Lothian to provide care for patients in their homes.

Your Application
AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application - but your answers must be your own.
Show us the real you: your application should reflect your skills, experience and motivations authentically
- Use AI wisely: it's fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don't let it write your answers
Why this matters?
Applications that rely on AI generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.
Tip: think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you - not an AI tool.
Important Notice:
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
We anticipate a high level of interest in this position and may close the vacancy early once a sufficient amount of applications are received. Therefore, please make sure you complete and submit your application at an early stage.
