Job description

Welder Fabricator | Salisbury | Up to £40,000 per annum

Earn up to £40,000 a year doing varied, hands-on work, from one-off prototypes to small-batch runs.
As a Welder Fabricator, your welding skills will be genuinely relied on, with every job a little different from the last.
You’ll be trusted to get on with the work, solve practical problems and take pride in a tidy, accurate finish.

As a Welder Fabricator, you will benefit from:

  • Varied work across one-off parts, prototypes, small batches and production
  • A stable role within an established automotive engineering business
  • The trust to work independently, with support from the wider Engineering team when needed
  • A well-equipped workshop, including presses up to 100 tonnes, guillotines and folders
  • The chance to shape improvements to jigs, fixtures and fabrication methods

As a Welder Fabricator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out TIG and MIG welding on aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel
  • Fabricate parts and assemblies from sheet, tube, bar and section, including thin-gauge material
  • Produce parts from drawings, sketches, samples or verbal instructions
  • Make jigs, fixtures and workshop aids to support production
  • Cut, form, fit, weld and finish parts to the required standard
  • Check your own work and keep the workshop clean, safe and organised

As a Welder Fabricator, your experience will include:

  • Welding and fabrication experience in an engineering, manufacturing or similar workshop environment
  • Confident TIG and/or MIG welding, with aluminium or stainless steel experience a real plus
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Comfortable using general workshop equipment such as saws, grinders, drills and folders
  • Thin-gauge, sheet metal, brazing or basic turning and milling experience would be useful, but full training is available

If you’re a Welder Fabricator who enjoys variety and wants your craftsmanship to be properly valued, this is a role to build a future in. Apply today with an up-to-date CV or call Ben Glover at Rubicon Recruitment on 01202 688 557 for more information.
