Student Nurse Healthcare Support Worker: Staff Bank
Agenda for Change Band 3 | NHS Forth Valley Staff Bank
For Year 3 / Final-Year Nursing Students
Invest in your future. Build your experience. Become part of NHS Forth Valley.
Are you a third-year nursing student expecting to join the NMC Register within the next 12 months?
NHS Forth Valley is looking to welcome final-year student nurses to our Staff Bank as Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers, offering an opportunity to broaden your clinical experience and become increasingly familiar with the organisation in which you may choose to begin your registered nursing career.
We recognise the significant knowledge, skills and experience that student nurses develop throughout their programme. This opportunity is designed to value the contribution you can make now.
Working through the Staff Bank provides flexibility around your university studies and placements and the opportunity to experience care across a broad range of NHS Forth Valley services.
What could this opportunity give you?
As a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker, you will work as part of the wider nursing and multidisciplinary team, delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care within the defined scope of the HCSW role.
More importantly, we want your Staff Bank experience to help you:
- Build confidence as you approach the transition from student to registered nurse.
- Broaden your clinical experience beyond your university placement journey.
- Experience different teams, specialties and care environments across NHS Forth Valley.
- Build relationships with clinical teams and become more familiar with our organisation.
- Continue developing your communication, teamwork and person centred care skills.
- Earn additional income through flexible shifts that can fit alongside your studies.
- Discover areas of practice that may influence where you would like to work following registration.
This approach complements NHS Forth Valleys wider focus on enhanced undergraduate exposure and development of sustainable nursing workforce pipelines.
Who are we looking for?
We particularly welcome applications from Year 3 / final-year student nurses who expect to become eligible for NMC registration within the next 12 months and who are enthusiastic about continuing to develop their skills and experience within NHS Forth Valley.
We are looking for students who share our commitment to delivering safe, effective and compassionate care and who are keen to contribute positively to the teams they work alongside.
We would like to invest in your contribution, help you make the most of your final year and give you the opportunity to see just how much NHS Forth Valley could offer as you take your next step into registered practice.
