Delivery Driver

Location: Barnsley
Hours: 9.30am - 6pm, 30 mins lunch, 40 hours per week

Are you a reliable driver who takes pride in delivering a friendly, dependable service? Allied Pharmacy in Barnsley Central and Church Street Rotherham is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our team and play a key role in getting essential medicines safely into the hands of the patients who need them.

As the familiar face at the door, you'll help us provide a caring, professional service to our local community. Whether you're dropping off prescriptions to regular customers or supporting the pharmacy team between runs, your work will make a real difference to people's day.

Key responsibilities

• Delivering prescriptions and pharmacy items to patients' homes safely and on time
• Planning efficient delivery routes across the local area
• Checking deliveries against records to ensure accuracy
• Handling medicines with care, confidentiality and in line with pharmacy procedures
• Providing a friendly, respectful point of contact for patients at the door
• Keeping the delivery vehicle clean, tidy and roadworthy
• Supporting the wider pharmacy team with general duties when needed

What we're looking for

• A polite, patient and approachable manner, especially with elderly or vulnerable customers
• Strong reliability, punctuality and a sense of responsibility
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently
• An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion
• Basic familiarity with the area is helpful

Please note
You start at Barnsley for 9.30am and then finish at Church Street Rotherham. The branch vehicle is a manual, therefore a manual licence is required; proof of this may be asked for.
