Deputy Head of Service All Age Continuing Care
- Full-time
Job summary
Join NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board as our Deputy Head of Service All Age Continuing Care (AACC), a senior leadership role within the Continuing Care team in the Quality Directorate.
Working closely with the Head of Service and wider health and social care partners, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across Continuing Healthcare (CHC), AACC and Funded Nursing Care (FNC). You will lead complex care operations, strengthen clinical governance and quality assurance, oversee performance and financial management, and drive service improvement and transformation.
This is an opportunity to influence how services are commissioned and delivered across a large geographical area, ensuring decisions are informed by national frameworks, statutory requirements, evidence and the needs of individuals and their families.
We are looking for an experienced, professionally qualified leader with substantial CHC or complex case management experience, excellent analytical and influencing skills, and a strong commitment to quality, accountability and collaborative working. You will bring resilience, sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex challenges while supporting teams and partners to deliver positive outcomes.
If you are passionate about improving care, strengthening governance and making a difference for people with complex needs, we would welcome your application.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the Head of Service, colleagues across AACC and complex care, and partners in local authorities, NHS providers, finance, commissioning and quality teams, you will provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of complex care operations.
You will support the consistent application of national Continuing Healthcare (CHC) frameworks, legislation and local policies across West Yorkshire. You will translate complex statutory requirements into clear operational processes, guidance and training for staff and partners.
A key focus will be strengthening governance, quality assurance and performance, including analysing activity, demand and financial information; monitoring standards and budgets; responding to audit findings; and developing and tracking improvement plans. You will prepare reports and assurance for senior ICB leaders, identify risks and recommend practical solutions.
You will also support service redesign and transformation, contribute to the development of an integrated AACC system, and work with commissioning and contracting colleagues to support provider market development and effective use of NHS resources.
You will monitor delivery against agreed performance indicators, financial controls, service standards and improvement actions, working collaboratively across West Yorkshire to achieve sustainable improvements in quality and outcomes.
