Job Summary
The Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Medicine Research Team is recruiting!
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and highly organised individual to join our established team as a Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator (Band 6). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative research and improve outcomes for patients with rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions.
This is a full-time (1.0 WTE), 12-month fixed-term post, based at Chapel Allerton Hospital.
The post holder will play a key role in coordinating and delivering a diverse portfolio of commercial and non-commercial clinical research studies across the Spondyloarthropathy Research Portfolio.
Key responsibilities include coordinating multiple studies from set-up through to completion; supporting portfolio development and delivery to agreed timelines; and assisting with investigator-initiated research, ethics submissions, national grant applications and funding arrangements for participating UK sites.
The post holder will ensure high standards of research delivery, participant safety and experience, with compliance with study protocols, Trust policies, GCP and relevant regulatory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your clinical research career. Informal enquiries and visits are warmly welcomed. If you are interested in the post, we would like to encourage you to contact the recruiting manager for an informal discussion or visit.
Why you should join our Team
The Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Medicine Research Team offers an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, ambitious and growing research service. Our portfolio has expanded significantly, and we are a leading site for a multicentre disease progression study, alongside 11 open studies and several in set-up, including five investigator-initiated projects.
We have a strong track record of recruiting and retaining participants in high-quality research and work collaboratively with Principal Investigators, multidisciplinary teams, national research networks, academic partners, pharmaceutical companies and commercial sponsors.
As a Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator, you will coordinate a diverse portfolio of observational, interventional and IMP studies from set-up to closure, supporting timelines, budgets, governance and high-quality study delivery.
The Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Medicine Research Team is a compassionate, supportive and collaborative team where patient care, research and innovation go hand in hand. We value professionalism, integrity, teamwork and continuous learning, with opportunities to develop specialist research skills, contribute ideas and make a meaningful difference to patient care.
Our work is underpinned by the Leeds Way values: Patient-centred, Collaborative, Fair, Accountable and Empowered. These values guide how we work together, support our patients and deliver high-quality research.
What you will bring to the role
We are looking for a proactive, motivated and compassionate individual with a keen interest in clinical research to join our Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Medicine Research Team. You will bring excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills, with the confidence to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and support the effective coordination and delivery of a complex clinical trials portfolio.
The role requires an organised approach, willingness to learn, dedication, attention to detail and an honest and open approach to all working relationships. You will demonstrate sound judgement, accountability and initiative, maintaining high standards of research governance, data quality, participant safety and regulatory compliance.
You will work collaboratively with Principal Investigators, research and multidisciplinary teams, industry and academic partners, research networks and participating organisations, attending regional and national meetings as required.
You will champion the Leeds Way values of patient-centred, Collaborative, Fair, Accountable and Empowered, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, respect and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through high-quality research.
