Role
Description
Department
The University of York, in strategic partnership with Movember, is establishing the Movember Institute of Men’s Health within the Department of Health Sciences. The Institute will generate and translate evidence on how systems, services, communities, and organisations can better reach, engage, and support men and boys across the life course, with a focus on earlier engagement, prevention, health equity, and real world impact.
The Institute Manager will be responsible for leading the day to day operational delivery of the Institute, working closely with the Institute Director and wider departmental professional services. The postholder will ensure that the Institute has the systems, processes, governance, reporting, financial oversight, and coordination needed to deliver effectively across multiple workstreams, partners, funders, and stakeholders.
This will include coordinating delivery plans, budgets, governance meetings, funder reporting, recruitment activity, events, communications, partner engagement, risk management, and operational processes. The postholder will act with delegated authority from the Institute Director to drive timelines, monitor progress, resolve operational issues, and ensure that actions are followed through.
The role will be central to establishing the Institute as a high functioning, outward facing research and partnership platform. Regular on-campus presence will be required to support the Institute's day-to-day running, with flexibility for hybrid working where the needs of the role allow. The successful candidate will need to be proactive, highly organised, confident working with senior academic and external partners, and able to manage complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities in a fast moving environment.
