Interim Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial | Telecommunications & Digital Infrastructure

Location: London, Canary Wharf (Hybrid, 3 days per week)

Contract: Interim / Day Rate

We are working with a leading European digital infrastructure business looking to appoint an Interim Senior Legal Counsel to provide commercial legal support across its UK and European operations.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role supporting major multinational customers, strategic accounts and complex infrastructure projects.

Working closely with sales, procurement, project teams and senior leadership, you will play an important role in negotiating high-value commercial agreements and supporting the delivery of critical network infrastructure.

The Role

The position has two equally important areas of responsibility:

Commercial Contracting

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex B2B customer agreements relating to telecommunications, fibre networks, connectivity and digital infrastructure services.
• Supporting negotiations with major multinational customers, hyperscalers and international carriers.
• Working directly with sales teams to progress commercial opportunities and negotiate agreements through to completion.
• Taking ownership of strategic customer accounts and providing ongoing commercial legal advice.

Infrastructure & Network Deployment

• Advising on network build, infrastructure deployment and maintenance projects.
• Drafting and negotiating agreements covering wayleaves, real estate, engineering, network installation and maintenance.
• Supporting operational and project teams on infrastructure-related contractual matters.
• Managing commercial and contractual risks associated with network expansion and delivery.

About You

We are keen to speak with lawyers who have:

• Strong commercial drafting and negotiation experience, ideally gained within telecommunications, connectivity or digital infrastructure.
• Experience advising on both customer-facing commercial contracts and infrastructure-related agreements.
• Exposure to fibre networks, network deployment, wayleaves or infrastructure maintenance.
• Confidence working directly with sales, procurement and operational stakeholders.
• The ability to manage complex negotiations independently in a fast-paced commercial environment.
• A commercially focused approach and the ability to build strong relationships across the business.

Previous in-house experience within telecommunications, network infrastructure or a closely related sector would be particularly valuable.

The business offers a collaborative and supportive legal environment, with considerable autonomy and direct exposure to senior commercial stakeholders.

The client is also open to considering lawyers available for 3-4 days per week, although three days in the London office are preferred.
