Dental Nurse Tutor/Assessor- Smart Dental Academy
Location: Manchester, M22 5LB, with workplace visits across the Manchester area
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

Are you an experienced dental nurse passionate about helping others develop? Join Smart Dental Academy and support apprentices as they build the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed.

We welcome applications from qualified tutors/assessors and experienced dental nurses looking to move into education.

Your Role

• Coach and mentor apprentices completing their Level 3 dental nursing qualification and support Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths.
• Carry out workplace observations, assessments and regular progress reviews.
• Review learner portfolios and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Work with learners and their practice teams to identify support needs and keep training on track.
• Maintain accurate assessment records in line with awarding body requirements.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and high standards of professional practice.

What You'll Bring

• A Level 3 Dental Nursing qualification and current GDC registration.
• Proven dental nursing experience and up-to-date clinical knowledge.
• Strong communication, organisation and IT skills.
• A supportive approach and the ability to work independently and within a team.
• A full driving licence and access to a car for workplace visits.

An assessor qualification, such as CAVA, A1 or an appropriate TAQA award, and a teaching qualification, such as AET, are preferred. Experience mentoring trainee dental nurses or using electronic portfolios would also be an advantage.

We may consider this as a trainee opportunity, with guidance and support while you work towards the required qualifications. The cost of the assessor and teaching courses will be the candidate's responsibility.
