Chef
to join their catering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chef who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious meals and wants to make a real difference to people's daily lives. Previous nursing home experience is NOT essential! We welcome applications from experienced chefs working in
restaurants, hotels, schools, nurseries, hospitals, contract catering and other professional kitchen environments , provided they have the relevant food safety knowledge and experience preparing meals for specialist dietary requirements. With

Food plays an important role in residents' health, wellbeing and quality of life. The successful Chef will help provide appetising, nutritious and enjoyable meals while catering for a range of individual dietary requirements. The Role
As Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals that meet residents' nutritional, dietary and individual care needs. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing fresh, nutritious and well-presented meals
Planning varied, balanced and appealing menus
Preparing
soft diets, texture-modified meals and specialist dietary options
Following
IDDSI guidelines
for texture-modified food and drinks where required
Catering for allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements
Supporting residents who require fortified or high-calorie meals
Maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
Following
HACCP procedures and COSHH regulations
Managing food storage, stock rotation and temperature controls
Monitoring food quality and presentation
Working closely with care and nursing staff to understand residents' dietary requirements
Maintaining accurate kitchen and food safety records
Ensuring meals are prepared and served to a consistently high standard
What We're Looking For
Previous experience working as a Chef in a professional kitchen
Experience preparing soft diets, texture-modified meals or specialist dietary menus
Understanding of
HACCP and COSHH
Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and safe food handling
Ability to plan and prepare nutritious, varied menus
Good organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A caring, positive and professional attitude
Knowledge of IDDSI guidelines is highly desirable , particularly for candidates experienced in catering for people with swallowing difficulties. No Nursing Home Experience? No Problem!
