The Role

We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on Tax Manager to lead tax, covering the UK, US and EU. You’ll oversee global tax compliance, support international expansion and provide commercially focused advice to help the business grow efficiently while managing tax risks and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of all Group tax matters across the UK, US and EU, including corporation tax, VAT, sales tax, customs duties and other applicable taxes.

  • Manage global tax compliance, ensuring all registrations, returns, payments and reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time.

  • Lead tax planning for key business projects and international growth initiatives, proactively assessing tax implications, advising on appropriate structures and identifying opportunities for tax efficiency.

  • Lead tax considerations for international expansion, including new markets, warehouses, retail stores, legal entities and fulfilment models, ensuring appropriate structures and registrations are in place ahead of launch.

  • Oversee international VAT, sales tax and customs requirements, including cross-border transactions, imports, exports, stock movements and bonded warehousing arrangements.

  • Manage the Group's transfer pricing framework, including intercompany transactions, policies and documentation.

  • Support Group tax reporting, statutory audits, tax provisions and year-end requirements.

  • Identify opportunities for tax efficiencies, risk mitigation and improvements to tax processes, systems and controls.

  • Monitor changes in international tax legislation and assess their commercial and operational impact.

  • Act as the main point of contact for tax authorities and external advisors, managing relationships, deliverables and associated costs.

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to provide practical, commercially focused tax advice on strategic projects and operational decisions.

Essential Skills

  • Qualified accountant or tax professional (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).

  • Strong tax experience within an international, multi-entity business, ideally in e-commerce, retail or consumer goods.

  • Excellent knowledge of UK corporate tax and VAT, alongside experience managing international tax compliance.

  • Experience across direct and indirect taxes, including exposure to international VAT, US sales tax, customs duties and transfer pricing.

  • Experience supporting international expansion, new legal entities, warehouses or cross-border operating models.

  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to translate complex tax requirements into practical business solutions.

  • Experience managing external tax advisors, auditors and tax authorities.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership, identify risks and drive improvements.
