The role
The successful applicant will join the School of Geographical Sciences, but will work across the University and with cross-disciplinary research institutes such as the Cabot Institute for the Environment, the Elizabeth Blackwell Institute for Health, and Jean Golding Institute for Data Science. We are open to applicants in all areas of climate change and health, but evidence of strong connections and understanding of both the ‘climate change’ and ‘health’ sectors is important. We would welcome applications from candidates with interests in the primary application of data science and AI to research questions in climate change and health.
Research interests might include: human health for different climate and adaption scenarios; fine-scale weather/climate hazard modelling relevant for health; different health, data, and AI models that complement and add to our existing ones, for instance related to lifetime exposures or impacts on chronic health outcomes; linked data and digital health; lived experience; different types of methods of assessment for climate and health impacts.

- Develop knowledge of, and contacts with, appropriate funding bodies external to the University.
