We are working with an alternative investment manager with over $15bn in AUM. The firm has grown rapidly over the past three years and is now looking to hire a Finance Manager to take ownership of its management accounting function.
This role will report to the CFO and work closely with the existing finance team in a flat, collaborative structure. Day to day, you will be responsible for producing the monthly management accounts, month-end journals, and balance sheet reconciliations, and for the month-end and year-end close. It is important to be comfortable in a hands on role as aspects such as accounts payable oversight, cash monitoring, VAT, will also sit with you. Within the first 6 months, you will lead the selection and heavily support with the end-to-end implementation of a new accounting system, including requirements gathering, chart of accounts design, data migration, testing and user training. You will also design the new processes and controls that come with it. You will also look for ways to improve and automate processes, including through the use of AI tools.
They are looking for a qualified accountant who is confident running management accounting and corporate books end to end. Experience leading an accounting system implementation is highly desirable, as is a background in asset management or hedge funds. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and taking full ownership of the function. They should enjoy hands-on accounting and not be looking to move into a different area of finance.
The firm has a highly collaborative culture, with a flat structure that provides direct access to the CFO, senior stakeholders, and investment professionals. They are incredibly generous with their base and bonus, with bonuses for non-investment professionals often >50%. They also have a broad range of benefits. This is largely office based with flexibility when needed.
