The Role

This is a hands-on, technically challenging position focused on

specialist, small-batch precision engineering . You'll take ownership of the machining process, from programming through to finished inspection, rather than simply operating existing programmes. Key responsibilities include: Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.

Creating and modifying programmes both online and offline.

Using

Edgecam for offline programming .

Working with

FANUC controls .

Selecting tooling, workholding and cutting parameters.

Proving out programmes and setting datums and offsets.

Reading engineering drawings and machining complex components to tight tolerances.

Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections.

Troubleshooting machining issues and ensuring components are produced right first time.

About You

You'll be a confident, self-sufficient CNC Turner with strong programming and setting experience and a passion for precision engineering. Essential requirements: Proven CNC turning, programming, setting and operating experience.

Edgecam experience - essential.

FANUC controls experience - essential.

Small-batch, high-precision machining experience.

Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.

Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.

Experience with complex components, varied CNC turning machinery, tooling selection and CAD/CAM systems would also be advantageous.
