Head Waiter - New Opening, Covent Garden
- Full-time
Head Waiter
Wright Brothers
Covent Garden | New Opening
Be Part of Something
New
As we prepare to open
our new restaurant in Covent Garden, we're looking for an experienced,
passionate Head Waiter to help shape our guest experience from day one.
This is an exciting
opportunity to be part of the next chapter of Wright Brothers, bringing
together our expertise in exceptional seafood with a more elevated approach to
hospitality, a deeper appreciation of our produce and a considered approach to
every detail of the guest journey.
We're looking for
someone who takes real pride in their craft, leads by example and understands
that the best hospitality comes from genuine connections, thoughtful service
and an eye for the smallest details. Someone who can bring a menu to life,
anticipate guests' needs and create memorable experiences, helping build a
restaurant that feels fresh and distinctive, yet unmistakably Wright Brothers
in its warmth, character and love of great seafood and good times.
Our Story
For over 20 years,
Wright Brothers has been passionate about sourcing and serving exceptional
seafood. What began with our co-founders, Ben Wright and Robin Hancock, selling
oysters has grown into Wright Brothers Wholesale, supplying more than 750
restaurants across the UK, a collection of much-loved London restaurants and
Wright Brothers at Home, our online fishmonger.
In 2024, we
established the Wright Brothers Sea Change Foundation to support projects that
protect our oceans, promote sustainability and champion the coastal communities
that depend on them.
Our philosophy is
simple: work hard, be nice to people and be kind to our planet. We believe in
great seafood, genuine hospitality and bringing good people together. We're
passionate about sharing knowledge, from the story behind our seafood to the
provenance of our wines and the people who supply us, creating genuine
connections and giving our guests every reason to return.
The Role
At Wright Brothers,
great hospitality is about more than serving exceptional seafood. It's about
making people feel welcome, creating genuine connections and delivering
experiences worth returning for.
As Head Waiter at our
new Covent Garden restaurant, you'll take ownership of your section, lead by
example and help set the standards for service across the restaurant. With
confidence, attention to detail and a natural flair for hospitality, you'll
bring our menu to life, anticipate guests' needs and deliver thoughtful,
personalised service.
Working closely with
the wider front-of-house team, you'll help ensure every service runs smoothly,
support and guide your colleagues, and create an atmosphere where guests feel
genuinely looked after, from their first welcome to their final goodbye.
What You'll Do
- Take full ownership of your
section, from preparation and service through to the final guest leaving. - Deliver warm, attentive and
personalised service, anticipating guests' needs and creating memorable
experiences. - Bring our seafood menu, daily
specials and wine selection to life through confident recommendations and
strong product knowledge. - Manage the pace and flow of
service, ensuring every table receives the right attention at the right
time. - Build genuine connections with
guests, recognise their preferences and encourage them to return. - Coordinate closely with the wider
front-of-house, bar and kitchen teams to ensure seamless service. - Support and guide colleagues,
sharing your knowledge and leading by example to maintain consistently
high standards. - Maintain excellent standards of
presentation, preparation and attention to detail throughout service. - Respond to guest feedback and
requests with professionalism, warmth and a genuine desire to get things
right.
What We're Looking
For
- Previous experience in a quality
restaurant, ideally within premium or fine-dining hospitality. - Confidence managing a section and
delivering polished, attentive service. - The ability to lead by example,
support colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture. - Strong communication skills,
excellent attention to detail and the ability to stay composed under
pressure. - A genuine interest in seafood,
wine and developing your product knowledge. - A natural ability to connect with
guests, understand their needs and make them feel valued. - A proactive, team-focused
attitude and a genuine passion for exceptional hospitality.
The Wright Benefits
- Staff meals on shift and
unlimited coffee. - Discounted food and drinks when
dining in our restaurants. - Hastee Pay, offering access to
earned wages when you need them. - Employee referral scheme.
- Development opportunities,
including WSET Levels 1, 2 and 3. - Supplier trips and industry
learning experiences. - Discounted wine.
- Opportunities to develop your
skills and progress within the business. - And, of course, a party or two.
