The Role
Your work here gets used in production, at live trading venues.
This business builds the core trading platform its clients run their markets on. It has since added a full set of containerised operations tools on top, and live clients are already taking them. Nobody owns getting those tools deployed yet. You will.
You’ll take each release and its notes, write the platform-native deployment, prove it on internal pre-go-live systems, then work with the client's own engineers on site or remotely until it’s live.
You’ll also sit in design sessions before development starts, so load balancing, failover and certificates get settled early. You won’t run the CI platform (a DevOps team does that), and once a platform is live, ops handles the tickets.
You’ll join a small, senior delivery team. Your colleagues are Linux engineers who've spent their careers in high-frequency trading.
What makes you a great fit:
- You've deployed multi-service containerised applications on more than one platform, writing the OpenShift or Kubernetes manifests yourself.
- You have strong Linux administration skills (RHEL or Rocky), and you can trace a failed deployment through service dependencies, startup order and TLS/mTLS certificates.
- You like being in front of clients: leading a setup session with their engineers, explaining an issue to a non-technical stakeholder, and travelling to international client sites at short notice.
The broader technical team uses: OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker/Podman, RHEL/Rocky Linux, Git, GitLab CI, Terraform, Ansible, AWS.
