School Cleaner – Watford | Permanent

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire Start: ASAP Contract: Permanent Hours: 12.5 hours per week, all year round Working pattern: Afternoons, 15:10–17:40. Morning shifts, 05:30–08:00, may also be considered. Salary: Grade 1, SCP 3 (indicative) We are recruiting a School Cleaner for a permanent position at a school in Watford. The role involves helping to maintain a clean, safe and pleasant environment for pupils and staff through regular cleaning and careful use of equipment and materials. Key Responsibilities Clean designated classrooms, corridors, offices and shared spaces. Maintain the cleanliness of toilets and washrooms. Empty bins and transfer waste to the appropriate disposal points. Replenish toiletries and other supplies when needed. Follow health and safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment. Keep equipment clean, check for faults and store it safely. Report hazards, damage or maintenance issues to the cleaning supervisor. What We’re Looking For A reliable and practical approach to work. Good standards of cleanliness and attention to detail. The ability to work independently and follow agreed procedures. Awareness of the importance of safety in a school environment. Flexibility to assist with cover when required. Cleaning experience would be useful, but a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic are essential.
